FAQs

  • I do accept some insurances! You can see my current accepted insurances on the Services & Fees tab. I can also provide superbills for those who are Out of Network to help with reimbursement from insurance.

  • I prefer to complete a quick, 15-minute, no obligation consultation via phone before scheduling any clients. This is to ensure that I am a good fit for your needs and vice versa! If either of us decide that it's not a great fit after the consultation, I'd be happy to refer you to another wonderful therapist in my network who can better suit your needs. To schedule a consultation, please fill out a contact form (here!) and I will get back to you shortly.

  • This is an age old question that I will not pretend to answer for everyone. However, I truly believe therapy CAN work if you're willing to allow it to. I always say the only things needed to begin therapy are willingness and an open mind. I have seen therapy do amazing things for people, myself included.

  • I'm glad you asked! I currently hold a BA in Psychology and an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am also fully licensed in the state of Florida (a rigorous process), giving me the title of Licensed Mental Health Counselor, or LMHC. You can read more about my clinical experience in the About page.

  • The first session is often an extension of the consultation. I typically utilize the first session to ask lots of questions to better get to know you! We will explore things like current stressors, current coping skills, social support, mental health history, etc. It is also a time that you can ask any questions of me, too. We will also work together to identify goals for your therapeutic experience.

  • Completely understood! I get that talking to a stranger is intimidating and maybe even scary. I recognize this in the first few sessions and try hard to meet my client where they're at. While there is some anxiety around us being strangers, there can also be relief- after all, I have no biases, judgments, or history to go off of when we talk. Sometimes, a blank slate is the best sounding board.
